Answer:	Just checked around: The best professional relative humidity meters measure +/-2%. Accuracy is best in the center of the range (50%) and falls off considerably at either end. These very accurate meters (such as the Cooper Atkins Model SRH77A) cost over five hundred dollars. So +/-5% is a great deal for about thirty dollars.

Answer:	The probes diameter is .575 inches measured with a caliper, a little over 9/16 inch.
