Answer:	No it does not. This is only part of an overall dryer piping system. This part is an outside vent that goes out through the wall of the home in a 4" diameter hole. This piece slides through the hole from the outside to the inside of the home and gets calked to the outside siding. The other end is an aluminum 4" pipe that connects to pipe within the home. Usually a dryer venting system consists of three major parts: a metal flexible hose that connects between the dryer and 4" dryer pipe, a aluminum or galvanized piping system of 4" dryer pipe and elbows to get the dryer exhaust to an outside wall, and this Deflecto dryer vent which gets the pipe outside and has a flapper and cage so that critters can't get into the home via the dryer vent.

Answer:	The pieces all should line up. Check the edges to see the clip / contact points. Either that or maybe you have a defective unit. Had no issues with mine, but did need to check to make sure I assembled them together correctly

Answer:	Not exactly sure what you are trying to do, but let me try to explain. If you are wanting to add the mesh as a means of keeping smaller things that can fit through the plastic grate, yes you can. This unit comes in 3 pieces that combine together as 1, so you can put the mesh in different spots if you want. Note you will definitely need check / clean it very often if adding a fine mesh as it will build up lint fast.
Question:	What is the distance between the centers of the screw holes, particularly the ones closer to the outside edge
Answer:	Put the cover over the vent and center it equally spaced on all sides of the vent. Take a pencil mark the screw slots on all 4 sides of the cover. Then drill a hole about 2/3rds the size of the screws in all 4 marks. Then start the bottom hole screw. Slide the bottom in place and tighten that xcrew, then place each screw in the next slot and tighten it. Do the next until all screws are in place and you are done.

The 1/8 is to allow for space, but can be easily insulated and sealed. I installed this vent about 4 months ago. It is good quality, better than stuff Home Depot or Lowes has. I have had zero issues with it and absolutely no slamming noises from the wind. Hope this helps.

Answer:	You will need a piece of duct that will go through the exterior wall to meet your dryer duct. Length of this is dependent on your installation. I only needed a 4" piece, but look up LAMBRO INDUSTRIES 229 4x2' Aluminum Duct Pipe to give you an idea of what is needed. There is another brand that comes with a short piece of duct already attached. The plastic on this vent hood is very soft and flexible. I didn't care for it and returned it.

Answer:	No the description says brown. I don't see why you can't spray paint it but use krylon for plastic spray paint.

Question:	How to attach the aluminum tube to the Supurr Guard Hood
Answer:	What I did was carefully uncrimp the seam on the tube for about two thirds of its length from the open end and expand the tube diameter slightly. Then I used a little duct tape to stabilize the end at the hood. This allowed the vent hood tube to slip over the tubing coming up from the dryer, both of which probably were of the same diameter. It works fine!

Question:	I need to replace an end cap that no longer stays closed. Will this Broan 885BL model slide inside of an existing 4" round duct
Answer:	Yes -- if the existing round duct has a corrugated end made for slipping into another 4 inch duct -- like the 885BL has when the 4-to-3 inch converter ring is removed. (Your existing duct should slide into the Broan pipe). If your 4 inch duct has a straight end, should buy a 4 inch connector that has the corrugated edge on both ends. Good idea to seal the connection with duct tape.

Answer:	It's seals with something that's sort of like weatherstripping around a door. But it's just gravity that holds the flapper closed, so it's enough to prevent major air flow, but it's not truly air-tight.

• Exhaust vent hood must be installed at least 12" from the ground or any object that may be in the path of the exhaust air.
• Use caulking compound to seal exterior wall opening around exhaust vent hood.
• The exhaust vent hood should cap the vent system to prevent rodents and insects from entering the home.
• Before connecting replacement duct to the exhaust outlet of an existing dryer, make sure the exhaust port is clean and the exhaust vent hood is not plugged with lint.
• Provide an access to the exhaust system, especially at turns and joints, so system can be inspected and cleaned at least once a year.
