Answer: My experience is similar to G.Wittenberg's. The coating wears off and rust reappears but when they $150 for a replacement rack, I'll keep using this product until the dishwasher croaks. While it lasts, the rust is kept off the dishes.

You need a few days because it is best to apply in light layers.If you have rust spots on the dish washer walls I would think you should try to clean with a good cleaning product and if that does not work I believe Rerack will work. Again apply in light coatings letting it dry between each coats.

Answer: Haven't tried Uber Goop, but Rerack worked for me. I cleaned and treated the area with Must for Rust, then applied Rerack and let it dry. Appears to be holding up, though the Rerack was lumpy in the bottle and took forever to get it stirred smooth before I could use it. Other than that I am pleased.

Answer: It did not fit my kitchenaid because my dishwasher has the seal mounted inside the sump as opposed to the seal being slid onto the diverter valve post after it is attached to the sump. If your washer has the seal accessible from inside the washer interior, this Amazon part should fit it. To know which you have, I recommend you watch a few YouTube videos and disassemble your dishwasher slightly to see which you have. The YouTube video entitled "Dishwasher leak diverter seal grommet leaking step by step instructions" specifically mentions that he is working on a Kenmore Elite dishwasher. The YouTube video entitled "DISHWASHER LEAK UNDERNEATH - SIMPLE FIX" gives a good view of how to disassemble the machine to get access to the seal and replace it (if this part works). The YouTube video entitled "How To: Whirlpool/ KitchenAid/Maytag Diverter Motor W10155344" shows a model similar to the one I have. This Amazon Part WILL NOT WORK on these type machines because the seal is an integral part of the sump. From 3:20 - 3:33 into the video, it shows the key difference... the diverter post is "tee" shaped and the seal is not accessible.
