Answer:	AJ is wrong and doesn't know what he is talking about. This unit has a pump to drain the water out. Just like a regular dishwasher. The max lift of the pump is 39", so the only requirement is that the hose is not greater than 39" below you drain attachment point.

Appliance is made to be hard wired but installing a cord is not a difficult job. All tools and supplies can be purchased at wal mart or home store. I just unwired the cord from my old dishwasher and put it on this one. This machine is great and cleans like none other also very quiet.

I cut it down and used an adapter with two hose clamps to attach it to a dishwasher drain pipe and route in into the plumbing of my sink like one would do for a normal dishwasher.

Answer:	I’ve used cold and it says not to when I’ve used my hot water it shuts it off at least that’s my experience.
